First Aid at Work Re-qualification


This course is for current First Aiders who require their First Aid at Work qualification to be renewed before the 3 year expiry date.


This is a 2 day course and can be made available on-site.

On completion of the course, candidates should have a knowledge and understanding of the following:

  • The roles and responsibilities of being a First Aider
  • Recording and reporting of accidents and incidents including RIDDOR
  • Contents of a first aid kit (including cross contamination)
  • Be able to asses a situation and act safely, promptly and effectively in an emergency
  • Specific work related injuries

Candidates will also be trained in how to administer appropriate first aid in the following circumstances:

  • Unconciousness (including seizure)
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Choking
  • Wounded and bleeding
  • Shock
  • Minor injuries (cuts, grazes, bruises etc)
  • Injuries to bone, muscles and joints (including spinal)
  • Chest Injuries
  • Burns and scalds
  • Eye injuries
  • Poisoning
  • Anaphylactic shock
  • Stroke
  • Asthma
  • Heart Attack (including Angina)
  • Diabetes



Candidates will be continually assessed throughtout the course to ensure learning outcomes have been achieved.  A multiple choice questionaire will also be handed out to be completed as part of the assessment.  Successful candidates will receive an approved certificate which is valid for 3 years.
