This course is about management of basic life support situations that require immediate response. This will include resuscitation and life support interventions for individuals who may be experiencing failure or deterioration of critical bodily function or other life-threatening conditions. The course also covers preparing for and performing external defibrillation on an individual in order to establish an effective cardiac rhythm. This covers setting up and operating automated external defibrillation equipment. The delivery of training covers a mix of both theory and practical elements.
