Basic First Aid

This course is ideal for employees who work in a low risk environment, or for people who would just like to further their knowledge on what to do in a medical emergency.

This is a 3-4 hour course, and is available on site.  Further information on this course is found below.

On completion of the course, candidates should have a knowledge and understanding on the following:

• Role and responsibilities of a first aider.
• Be able to assess a situation, and act safely, effectively and promptly in an emergency.

Candidates will be trained to deal with the following medical emergencies:

• Unconsciousness
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
• Choking
• Minor wounds and bleeding
• Shock
• Any specific work related injuries

Qualifications

Candidates will receive a Basic First Aid certificate on completion of the course
